Central Park Art Stroll

See Central Park from an art perspective beyond the playgrounds and greenery. Walk with Artful Circle’s Franklin Hill Perrell as he focuses on the well-known statuary throughout the park, as well as its hidden gems.

Learn about the aesthetic goals of its designers, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, as well as the stories behind the many monuments in the park erected in honor of literary and historic icons, such as Hans Christian Anderson, Alice in Wonderland, Balto the Dog, Romeo and Juliet, Christopher Columbus, Beethoven, Mother Goose, Duke Ellington and more. Together, we will also experience the sculptural artistry of the Delacorte musical clock at the Central Park Zoo, where there is an amazing abundance of art and the Angel of the Waters statue in the Bethesda Terrace Fountain.

This is a great opportunity to enhance your knowledge of the artists, sculptors and architects that make Central Park one of the most popular cultural attractions in the world. Franklin Hill Perrell will give several tours throughout the spring and fall (schedule to be announced). We have also designed a lecture presentation and there is a book in the making! Stay tuned…
